Monitor Your Iron

Test at home. Track over time.

Knowing what to ask is a start. Understanding your results is the next step. We're exploring at-home iron testing with qualified providers and meaningful follow-up.

In development. Not an operating testing service.

Illustrative concept—not an available test service. Kit contents, sampling items, return mailer and phone results are mockups; no provider, panel or dashboard is confirmed.

Two ways we're thinking about it

One check-in. Or a longer view.

Proposed concept · Not available to order

Single Test Kit

A starting point for a conversation.

A proposed one-off testing option to help you and your clinician consider iron status. The panel, collection method and provider would need to be validated before any service is offered.

Monthly Monitor

Context over time, not testing for its own sake.

An idea for repeat monitoring when follow-up is appropriate. Monthly testing is not universally recommended; timing should reflect clinician guidance and the eventual service design. This is not a subscription offer.

Potential measures · Panel not finalized

Different markers. Different questions.

Ferritin

A marker used to assess iron stores. Inflammation can raise ferritin, so it needs interpretation alongside clinical context and other findings.

Haemoglobin

Helps assess anaemia, which can have several causes. It does not tell you iron stores or iron absorption on its own.

Transferrin saturation

Can help assess circulating iron availability. A qualified provider would determine how it fits with the rest of the panel.

These are potential measures, not a confirmed kit specification. The finalized panel depends on provider validation, suitable sampling and applicable requirements. Results are not a self-diagnosis or a reason to change treatment without clinical advice.

How we envision it working

A clearer path from curiosity to context.

  1. Define the approach

The proposed one-off and repeat-monitoring concepts would need a clear purpose and an appropriate follow-up schedule.

  2. Establish the testing details

Before any launch, a qualified testing provider, validated sampling details and clear instructions would need to be in place.

  3. Results and follow-up

The envisioned service would explain how results are communicated and when to seek clinical follow-up. No current dashboard or laboratory arrangement is implied.

A proposed pathway, not a fulfillment promise. Device, sample type, sample return and regulatory requirements are not yet finalized.

Iron through life's chapters

The numbers need a person behind them.

Periods, pregnancy, recovery and later life can change the questions worth asking. Our Women + Iron page puts testing and iron needs in context—not into a one-size-fits-all recommendation.
